We are all called to lift up the name of Jesus, to share our faith and make a difference in this world for the Kingdom of God! Beyond that, God calls some to focus much of their time and effort on sharing the Gospel and equipping believers. We understand God’s calling in people’s lives to be of utmost importance! Understanding your calling, the timing of God in your life, and the need to surround yourself with those who have matured in their calling are all vital to your maturation in the ministry. Please consider your calling by spending a season of fasting and prayer and seeking wisdom from the Christian leaders you are serving with. When you are ready, click the “Apply for Membership” button below to fill out the application for one of the credentials below. Each requires an application and a thorough pastoral recommendation. Transferring your license or ordination from another organization is also an option and requires an application as well. See the checklist below to begin the application process. Our Ministerial Credentials
Christian Ministry License
A Christian Ministry License is for people who are just starting to minister and have a passion to serve and grow in their faith. We have a network of Christian leaders who will partner with your church or ministry that you are serving with to give you the tools you need to be an effective witness for Christ and put you on track to become an ordained minister of the Gospel. We also offer monthly networking through zoom calls and other gatherings. Ministerial Ordination License
The Ministerial Ordination License distinguishes one that is consecrated or set apart for the work of the ministry. Ordination may be granted to those with recognized and proven public ministries, demonstrating maturity in character and attitude, being sound in doctrine and Biblical knowledge. Pastoral recommendation of the applicant is key and videos of the applicant may be required during the qualifying process. Costs to Join FMI
We keep our fees to participate with FMI very minimal so that you can stay focused on family and ministry. It’s only $50 to apply and yearly dues for 2026 are $50 for ministerial licensing, and $100 for ordination. For those who are ages 65 and older and applying for ordination, we offer 50% discounts for yearly fees.
Application Checklist
Thank you for your interest in joining FMI. Please carefully read our core beliefs on the “We Believe” page. Scripture charges us to dwell together in unity and while there may be some non-essential doctrines we may differ on, it’s important that we walk together on the essentials. It is also important that, your pastor and spouse (if married) are in full agreement for you to pursue a ministerial license or ordination. In some case, both spouses may consider applying together. Make sure you have all the items on the following checklist then click the “Apply for Membership” button below to complete the application form. The form is extensive so be prepared to spend an hour or so completing it.
The following is a checklist of the items you will need to upload on the form and process your application. Please gather these things before applying. All uploaded files must be a .pdf, .jpg or .png file and less than 5MB each. Please also click the “Payment Portal” to pay your $50 application fee. Items needed:
Carefully review FMI Core Beliefs from the “We Believe” page and be prepared to answer questions about some of these doctrines
Acknowledgment that (If married), you and your spouse are in harmony with joining FMI
A letter of recommendation from your current Pastor (we will be communicating with your pastor regarding your application and experience)
If you are a Lead Pastor, provide a recommendation from another pastor who you have worked with recently
A personal picture of yourself (if single), or your immediate family (if you are married)
Family, work, ministry, and education history details
If you already have credentials (license or ordination), be prepared to upload a copy of your certificate, letter, or card
We use Google Forms for our application so please make sure you have a free Google account (gmail email) to begin the form
We will not be able to process your application until the fee is paid and the form is complete including all of the necessary uploaded files. Upon receipt of your application and the necessary requirements, we will be in contact with you to schedule an interview with one of our leadership team members.
